Description: Designs and develops engaging and high quality continuing medical education according to adult learning principles and best practices. Responsible for project implementation and product development for activities that support RSNA's distance education portfolio. Provides analytic support for ongoing data-driven decision making, including tracking user engagement with Education Center activities and monitoring data to readily identify trends. Supports marketing and communication efforts, tying in performance metrics for online activities as appropriate.


Responsibilities Include:

  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director: Education Center to develop business plans that identify needs and objectives for new product development ideas, outlining competitive analysis/scan of the external environment along with an operational project plan, budget and resource requirements, and high level communication plan/tactics to ensure success.
  • Develop and manage detailed work plans and status reports to ensure projects are completed on time, delivered to high professional standards, and within budget/allocated resources.
  • Apply a systematic product development process to ensure consistency for the design of current and future Education Center programs as well as documenting compliance with ACCME accreditation requirements.
  • Apply best practices and knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory to the strategy, design, and delivery of self-directed, distance learning.
  • Support the marketing of Education Center communication materials directed to members and other interested parties; routinely updating and monitoring the annual marketing production and tactics schedule for the Education Center.
  • Develops robust reporting mechanisms to identify, analyze and evaluate the Education Center offerings; and readily identify trends. Uses baseline performance benchmark data to evaluate individual activities and support decision making efforts related to the Education Center product portfolio.
  • Research and makes recommendations for innovative design and content delivery methods.
  • Manage the administration of MyPortfolio, including monitoring user feedback, preparing correspondence and conducting webinars, recommending product improvements, sending timely messages to users, and providing onsite demonstrations of program as needed.

Requirements: 

  • B.A. in Instructional Design, Education, Instructional Systems Design, Communications, or related field required
  • Prior experience reviewing results from assessments, evaluations, and/or surveys and preparing outcome assessment reports for key stakeholders.
  • Prior experience with managing projects through to successful completion.
  • Prior experience working with volunteer authors desirable
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures
  • Experience developing customized on-line training solutions and utilizing authoring tool software
  • Experience with learning management system (LMS) platforms, a plus
  • Ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovations
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • M.Ed. or M.S. in Instructional Design or related field a plus
  • Previous software package and installation experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Internet applications
  • Willingness to take on new challenges
