Description: Provides leadership to high-level professional of IT Infrastructure team.  Develops IT: Infrastructure budges and plans.  Develops overall objectives and long-range plans which includes any improvements, maintenance and upgrades of any hardware and software for all RSNA IT Infrastructure needs including all offices, data center, cloud and annual meeting in a cost effective manner.  Able to manage all aspects of RSNA IT: Infrastructure including technical and business.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the Site Reliability and Internal Operations teams.
  • Ensure staff receive necessary resources, knowledge, tools, access, and training to deliver effective services and support.
  • Oversee the establishment, implementation and adherence to operational processes and practices
  • Provide strategy and management of ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Manage regulatory compliance and adherence to appropriate industry best practices.
  • Maintain contractual and business relationships with strategic vendors including telecommunications, hardware, and service providers
  • Manage our virtual private cloud using VMware vSphere.
  • Administer Windows Enterprise and Office 365 environments. This includes Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Servers, ADFS/SAML, File and Print services, Exchange and SharePoint.
  • Manage RSNA's public cloud using AWS and other cloud providers as needed.
  • Plan for disaster recovery and other backup contingencies.
  • Keep RSNA in conformance with PCI regulations.
  • Track and keep all software licenses up to date.
  • Tune, monitor and maintain system configurations.
  • Use continuous integration best practices to script and deploy software rollouts.
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of system infrastructure such as: network switches and access points, servers and firewalls.
  • Create procedural and system documentation such as network diagrams.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors including cloud, data center, subscriptions, telecom and services and capital and operational expenses.
  • Ensure security policies by leveraging intrusion detection tools, layer 7 firewalling, system hardening and log analysis.
  • Refine and build out the delivery and consumption of the services catalog.
  • Accountable for support SLAs and KPIs.
  • Own the business and cross functional IT relationships that consume the services.
  • Create and deliver strategic initiatives that improve the overall stability, resiliency and maintainability of our systems/applications.
  • Build and mentor talent, including vendor, to grow the organization's ability to deliver the services.
  • Extensive incident and problem management experience.
  • Functional understanding of intersection of hardware and software to manage application availability.


  • Must have Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field.
  • Must have 10+ years' experience delivering IT Infrastructure support at a Director level or above.
  • Must have proven leadership skills, team-orientation, and a proactive and optimistic management style with the ability to lead high-talent teams; ability to motivate employees, handle difficult employee relations issues and create a culture that supports high employee morale.
  • Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, procedures and practices, advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines; demonstrated ability to manage toward budget and work plan goals and experience with strategic work planning and budgeting.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
  • Strong customer service focus; excellent communication skills, including presentations and negotiations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines and be able to travel occasionally if needed.
  • Strong IT operational background and understanding of networks, servers, applications, and databases.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical terminology in a clear and basic language.
  • Established method of retaining information when provided.
  • Must be a people person.
  • Planning, building and supporting IT Infrastructure for large exhibition meeting a plus.
