Description: RSNA is currently seeking a Database Developer who will work in a team with developers and Lead DBA. The position will fulfill an integral role in supporting and maintaining all RSNA databases. The successful candidate will work with the developers in the IT Development department. This position is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of all the databases, writing queries and reports, and maintaining documentation. In order to fulfill this, he/she will need to collaborate with software developers to achieve the best solutions and to optimize code and processes.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Writing complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, triggers, jobs, and functions.
  • Develop, maintain and administer ETL jobs using SSIS package.
  • Review SQL code and recommend optimizations while enforcing best practices.
  • Develop scripts and processes to automate tasks.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the developers/off-shore team and report writers regarding proper database usage.
  • Responsible for identifying, resolving and documenting any database issues.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and implementing new database functionality, in the AMS or other systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for all databases.
  • Ensure SQL agent jobs, scheduled tasks, ETL processes and services run successfully.
  • Support of production systems for database problem resolution and recovery as well as assistance with production applications, including emergency off-hour support.

Requirements:

  • Must have 4+ years of working knowledge and abilities with Microsoft SQL server, including DTS, SSIS, SSRS, scheduled jobs, and reports.
  • Bachelor's in computer science or a related field.
  • 3-4 years in database development / T-SQL coding experience.
  • 1-2 years of SSIS packages development.
  • 1-2 years in SSRS environment is preferred.
  • Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Tableau and Elastic is preferred.
  • Experience working with Association Management Systems or CRM systems preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus, ability to resolve conflict, and a collaborative team approach to problem solving. Strong understanding of data design, data migration/conversion/transformation and concepts of relational database design.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, technical and communication skills.
  • Experience in SQL Server Reporting and Integration Services (SSRS/SSIS).
  • Must be able to understand requirements and communicate solutions that help meet the goals of projects or issues.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Fluent in T-SQL and writing efficient, fast-performing queries/stored procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, possess strong problem-solving skills and have a willingness to work with new technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot code and provide fixes in a time-sensitive manner.
  • Organized and able to plan and execute tasks with an attention to detail.
