Description: Responsible for administering the activities and programs of the Education Center, including on-line learning and enduring education materials.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Engages in strategic planning, in partnership with RSNA's volunteer leadership and executive leadership, to set direction for the activities and programs of the Education Center
  • Establishes priorities for the Education Center department staff and manages the portfolio of activities and programs developed within the Education Center.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for Education Center department staff, including setting direction, monitoring overall output and quality, and proactively assessing professional development and resource needs.
  • Directs the effective and efficient planning, development, implementation and evaluation of online educational programs and activities.
  • Participates in the identification of underlying professional practice gaps and educational needs as part of the planning process for future educational products and programs.
  • Proactively identifies resources needed to support education product development to ensure RSNA member needs are met.
  • Directs activities to assure compliance with accreditation (ACCME) criteria, standards and policies. Participates in the development and maintenance of all necessary documentation to meet accreditation and reporting requirements.
  • Develops and monitors the Education Center budget to assure efficient and effective use of RSNA resources in service of the RSNA's strategic plan for education.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Program Services to select and provide staff support for Self Assessment Modules at the Annual Meeting.
  • Crafts creative design solutions for the current online library, provide recommendations regarding all aspects of content arrangement, sequencing of lessons, integration of learner assessments, and use of technology/tools to promote interactive and engaging online learning.
  • Stays abreast of developing trends and methodologies in the field of continuing professional development in order to evolve the programs of the RSNA to make optimal use of modern educational methodologies.
  • Applies best practices/knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory to optimize the strategic design and delivery of RSNA online programs.
  • Manages the appropriate educational components of the RSNA website, including the CME Repository, in coordination with the Marketing and IT staff.
  • Provides staff support to the Education Committee, Content Advisory Panel, and other education-related committees as assigned.
  • Plans and supervises Education Center activities for the RSNA Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting.


  • Advanced degree in education or education-related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of continuing medical education programs.
  • Previous experience with web-based education programs.
  • Prior experience in association management required.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Software platforms desirable.
  • E-learning certification desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in and comfort with team-oriented approach to project management.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in staff supervision.
  • Past experience with budget development and management.
