Description: The Director of Enterprise Data is responsible for delivery of high performing technology solutions as it relates to Enterprise data.  This role is responsible for the planning, design, architecture, negotiation/purchasing, development, testing, and support/maintenance of the enterprise data platform for RSNA.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Provides strategic vision, leadership and management of the data governance practices, design, architecture and implementation of enterprise data collection, storage, integration, and interface strategies to improve systems including EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouses), master data management, data quality, date integration (ETL, CDC), and metadata.
  2. Manages and mentors cross-functional team of resources including DBAs, SQL/ETL developers, and data architects, and provides compliance with policy, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  3. Provides leadership to strategic and operational governance processes, data/information architecture, architecture roadmaps to improve data quality across all systems.
  4. Responsible for the management of legacy data, and integration of heterogeneous data sources, 3rd party data, legacy data, and associated applications data.
  5. Responsible for business intelligence tools that use data and analytics to provide business insights to improve quality and efficiency.
  6. Develop and maintain an excellent understanding on how to capture and use data that will be used by the BI team for building data visualization (dashboards, charts, reports, spreadsheets) for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  7. Provides leadership and management to team, mentoring their technical and career development, recruiting top talent, fostering and nurturing interdepartmental relationships and communications.
  8. Provides technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.
  9. Provides architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to SQL/ETL development, DBAs and data architect teams.
  10. Provides deep understanding of technology industry trends, emerging technologies, and data architecture best practices, and uses that knowledge to recommend new tools and technologies.
  11. Manages data team operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  12. Implements development processes, capable of defining key metrics for the department and driving improvement.
  13. Effectively manages remote teams and vendors.



  1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business Management, and/or relevant experience.
  2. 10+ years' experience in the strategic planning, design, architecture, integration, analysis and use of data elements in enterprise information systems.
  3. 7+ years' of experience in EDW (Enterprise Data Warehousing), and analytics with a focus on modernized cloud-based platforms, platform as a service databases and analytics tools.
  4. Demonstrated experience building strong client relationships with key stakeholders and leading an effective Data Governance Committee Structure.
  5. Experience setting long-term strategy, architecture and technology for core data integration, EDW (Enterprise Data Warehousing) and BI (Tableau) platforms.
  6. Experience implementing and overseeing Master Data Management (MDM) and data governance programs.
  7. Demonstrated ability to set technology direction and oversee successful delivery and/or support of technology solutions as it relates to enterprise data management.
  8. Working experience with various analytic tools like Tableau is required.
  9. Experience with cloud environment like AWS is required.
  10.  Strong analytical skills and be able to critically assess architectural decisions.
  11. Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  13. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  14. Experience working with project delivery teams that include project managers, business analysts, quality assurance and operations/infrastructure.
  15. Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
  16. Excellent leadership skills to build a cohesive and service centric team, open and agile mind-set to lead the team to meet the organizations business needs.  Must be capable of making judgment calls and priorities necessary to achieve business objective.
  17. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor development leaders.
  18. Experience in managing remote teams and vendors.
  19. Understanding of integration and security strategies is nice to have.
  20. Healthcare industry or nonprofit experience is a plus.
