Description: Provides leadership and manages IT Infrastructure and Operations teams.  Develops strategy and roadmap for Infrastructure, operations and services that are aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the AED - IT in development of I&O strategy and roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall IT and business strategic plans.
  • Mentor, coach, motivate, oversee, and manage a team while fostering a highly collaborative culture and serving as a leadership role model within the organization.
  • Detects, monitors, reports, manages, escalates and ultimately prevents service failures and/or degradations.
  • IT Infrastructure / Architecture - Responsible for assisting AED IT in setting the strategy for IT infrastructure and software capabilities for current and future organizational needs. Will have complete knowledge of our data center, network architecture and critical applications. This is a key responsibility for effectively leveraging current investments and planning for significant transitions.
  • IT Management / Business Partnership - Will help change the way IT operates, bringing ideas on how to increase productivity and efficiency across all service domains, and focus IT resources on strategic business needs.
  • Data Protection / Security - Will take the lead on securing our high value data and high value users, make key decisions on IT investments that bolster our defenses, implement changes that improve detection, monitoring and response management.
  • Work with Organization compliance and help drive IT Compliance programs related to PCI and GDPR.
  • Define and promote IT polices, procedures and standards that align with PCI and GDPR regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
  • Manage and lead teams responsible for daily operations premise and cloud hosted infrastructure, storage, systems and support services including data center(s), computers, storage, backups, security, voice and data networks, conferencing, monitoring and NOC.
  • Lead and manage all ITSM based Service Desk functions (incident, problem, service request, and change management) for corporate employees; create, maintain and adhere to SLAs and KPIs.
  • Facilitate the standardization and administration of end-user computing environments to increase employee efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop the corporate infrastructure and systems strategies to ensure investments will support current and future needs including go-forward data center, cloud technologies, networks, management tools, system integration, virtualization, end user computing, disaster recovery and continuity of operations across our widely distributed technology environments.
  • Develop, publish and continually update technology operations and support Standard Operating Procedures and detailed environmental documentation based on industry best practices.
  • Provide expertise and oversight during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, migrations and maintenance.
  • Manage close relationships with business units, through IT Business Partners, by focusing on business process improvement, devising innovative solutions to business challenges, making the best use of existing systems, developing systems enhancements and providing continuous systems training and education.
  • Identify cost drivers and implement cost control plans.
  • Develop and maintain mastery of the enterprise IT budget and ensure a process and culture to sustain budgetary accountability within the team.
  • Work with Business and AEDs to establish and/or maintain DR and business continuity plans.
  • Management of IT services, licenses and contracts.
  • Lead and manage SR team and help craft best practices using CI/CD tools and services to automate software and infrastructure rollouts and configuration management.
  • Manage IT operational tasks leading up to and during Annual Meeting.
  • Manage IT vendor/contractor relationships leveraged for Annual Meeting.


  • Must have bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field.
  • Must have 10+ years' experience delivering IT Infrastructure and operations support preferably at a senior manager's level or higher level.
  • Must have proven leadership skills, team-orientation, and a proactive and optimistic management style with the ability to lead high-talent teams; ability to motivate employees, handle difficult employee relation issues and create a culture that supports high employee morale.
  • Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, procedures and practices, advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines; demonstrated ability to manage toward budget and work plan goals and experience with strategic work planning and budgeting.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
  • Strong customer service focus; excellent communication skills, including presentations and negotiations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines and be able to travel occasionally if needed.
  • Strong IT operational background and understanding of networks, servers, applications, and databases.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be process oriented and have structured approach for Team operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical terminology in a clear and basic language.
  • Established method of retaining information when provided.
  • Must be a people person.
  • Planning, building and supporting IT Infrastructure and Operations for large exhibition meeting a plus.
