Description: Responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring and incident response of external facing platforms and services.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Maintains enterprise systems running on a variety of enterprise operating systems such as Ubuntu Linux and Windows Server.
  2. Helps maintain system performance and uptime through proactive monitoring and the engineering of system redundancies. Assists in maintaining dedicated monitoring system for customer facing services.
  3. Helps conduct root cause analysis and post-mortem reports on an issue or downtime with external facing platforms and services.
  4. Helps build and maintains Configuration Management System and process to automate builds and configuration of systems.
  5. Maintains platforms, systems and services deployed on Public Cloud to support external facing applications and services.
  6. Maintains Central Log Management System such as Splunk, Logstash or Cloudwatch.
  7. Helps other Site Reliability Engineers maintain and administer Organization's CMS system (SiteCore).
  8. Helps maintain and administer Organization's enterprise load balances supporting external facing web applications and services.
  9. Helps setup external facing hardware and services deployed to support RSNA annual meeting.
  10. Assists in maintaining the system availability and performance of enterprise grade database systems such as MySQL or Microsoft SQL.
  11. Assists with automating routine tasks and configuration through scripting using a variety of languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Ruby.
  12. Assists with private and public cloud resources running on VMware vSphere, AWS, and Microsoft Azure. Assists with the responsibility for the development of the Society's enterprise SaaS offerings and platform.
  13. Assists the System and Network Administrator with enterprise system patching and routine stability and security updates.
  14. Helps maintain and build enterprise image templates for laptops and desktops.
  15. Supports IT: Operations by assisting with ticket overflow.


  1. BA/BS Degree in Engineering Computer Science or a related experience
  2. Fluency in at least one programming language such as Ruby, Java, Scala, JavaScript / Node.js, Python, Go, C#, or C/C++
  3. Experience with Linux and windows administration.  Bash or PowerShell scripting is a plus
  4. Exposure to infrastructure as code automation tools such as Chef, Ansible, or Terraform
  5. Exposure to CI/CD workflows such as Jenkins, Bamboo or Codepipeline
  6. Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  7. Always learning, and comfort with immersing yourself in areas you have never worked in before
