Description: To oversee and administer the day-to-day operations of the AUR, AUR R&E Foundation, SCARD and APDR.

Responsibilities Include: 

  1. In coordination with the Senior Director, Education and Academic Radiology, execute the operational and strategic planning activities essential to meet the objectives of the Academic Societies.
  2. Manage and maintain the departmental timeline to ensure timely development and execution of established activities.
  3. Establish and maintain clear communication channels with the volunteer leaders.
  4. Develop solutions to internal operational challenges.
  5. Plan, formulate and recommend policies and structures for new initiatives.
  6. Prepare agendas and supporting materials for Board meetings; attend board meetings and prepare minutes.
  7. Oversee agenda formation and participate in all appropriate committee meetings for the societies.
  8. Oversee the agenda development, and participate in affinity group meetings as needed to ensure AUR governance and policies are followed and facilitate communications between the AUR and affinity group leaderships.
  9. Assist Senior Director, Education and Academic Radiology with society finances by participating in the budget process, preparing for the Finance Committee meetings, and reviewing society invoices for accuracy.
  10. Oversee administration of Foundation grants and fundraising activities.
  11. Oversee the planning and implementation of the academic societies' annual meetings. Attend the AUR annual meeting and the SCARD Fall meeting.
  12. Supervise and direct the activities of professional and administrative staff in Academic Services.
  13. Coordinate the work of the academic societies through the appropriate RSNA departments.


  1. Bachelor's degree required
  2. At least five years previous Association management experience in a management position required, including demonstrated experience managing staff.
  3. Demonstrated experience working with governing boards.
  4. Ability to use creativity and good judgment to develop and implement academic society initiatives.
  5. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  6. High ethical standards required.
  7. Ability to manage competing and conflicting confidential issues.
  8. Experience with annual meeting management preferred
